N-butyl acetate, also known as butyl acetate, butyric acid ester, and acetic acid butyl ester. It is a clear, colorless, and pleasant-smelling flammable liquid. It  has good solubility for cellulose acetate, ethyl cellulose, chlorinated rubber, polystyrene, methyl acrylate resin, as well as many natural gums such as tannin extract, manila extract, quat resin, dama resin.

Butyl acetate Applications.

It is used as an excellent organic solvent in the industrial production of nitrocellulose adhesive, nitrocellulose, varnish, artificial leather, pharmaceuticals, plastics, and fragrances. It  can dissolve substances such as rosin, polyvinyl acetate, polypropylene acrylate, polyvinyl chloride, chlorinated rubber, eucommia ulmoides gum and polymethyl methacrylate.

Mixed Butyl Acetate is a solvent with similar usage and performance to n-butyl acetate, but at a lower cost. Due to its multiple esters and small amount of alcohol, it has better dissolving power for nitrocellulose in wood coating production compared to n-butyl acetate. In terms of formulating tincture, it has the same application as n-butyl acetate, and because Mixed Butyl Acetate contains 17%-22% of amyl ester, its aroma is more fragrant and superior to n-butyl acetate, making it more favored by construction personnel for formulating tincture.
